2011 GSL January Code S Quarterfinals: Day 1

I already discussed these games a little bit yesterday in my preview but you can boil it down to a David and Goliath battle in the first match as unheralded choyafOu takes on GSL 2 Champion IMNesTea followed by a clash of two players with lots of hype and not a lot of GSL results so far, IMmvp and TSLTrickster.

  1. Spoilers!

NesTea vs MVP is going to be nuts. NesTeas is going to need something special to get through MVP, that's for certain.

Also, both come in with 7-0 game records this GSL. Someone has to lose! (Though if we ended up with a Draw in game 1 by some odd measure, it would be damn funny)

  2. IMNesTea got all the way to the finals of GSL 2 without losing a game, though it ended up being pretty close against MarineKing. I know intellectually that IMmvp is really good, but at this point I've seen NesTea crush so many players it's just really hard to imagine him losing. In this GSL and the two previous, he's only lost an actual match to TSLRain, and then only because he didn't quite have the timing right on the marine/SCV rushes that Rain was doing.

The fact they are teammates is a big wildcard though. We seem to get weird results from teammate games, as one player comes up with something odd that completely throws off the other.
