Game 1 - Metalopolis
Cross positions, BanBans at 12 and TOP at 6
No gas fast expand for TOP, two gas for BanBans
Three more barracks for TOP, nexus for BanBans at 30 supply
Stim starts for TOP, who sneaks an SCV into BanBans' base
BanBans gets two more gateways, then a robotics when the SCV is dead
Factory and engineering bay for TOP, robotics bay for BanBans
Starport for TOP, who moves out with his infantry. Robotics bay only have finished.
Three marauders and about ten marines move into BanBans' natural, then withdraws
Both players take a third at the same time
BanBans getting colossus and thermal lance, ghost academy and medivacs for TOP
Two stargates out for BanBans
TOP drops four marauders in the back of BanBans' main and attacks the robotics bay
It goes down before the thermal lance upgrade finishes, but stalkers kill the dropship after it loads the marauders
Immortal and phoenixes now for BanBans, TOP making barracks and vikings
TOP moves his infantry army toward BanBans third base, but his scouting factory sees two colossus and he withdraws
TOP starts a fourth base and a second starport, BanBans getting two forges and twilight council
Two dropships approach BanBans' main filled mostly with marauders
Phoenixes mob the dropships, but nothing else comes, so the marauders kill a ton of probes before the phoenixes can kill them
BanBans getting charge and continuing to make zealots, TOP floats his command center to the gold base while making a fifth command center
BanBans has eight phoenixes, TOP perhaps ten vikings
BanBans moves his army toward the gold but it gets almost completely EMPed
For some reason BanBans doesn't withdraw and instead engages TOP's marauders
Most of the colossus fall to vikings, but stalkers clean out all the vikings and three colossus are left
More vikings arrive to finish off the colossus, marauder reinforcements come and drive off the stalkers
TOP making two more command centers and advancing toward BanBans' third, BanBans getting blink
BanBans meets the army with a decent number of stalkers and colossus, but also plenty of phoenixes
There's only marauders and medivacs in TOP's army so once with vikings are gone TOP has to fall back
BanBans takes a fourth. TOP has six bases but two of them aren't mining yet
TOP attacks the fourth nexus with a marauder army. This time there are marines mixed in to hold off the phoenixes
Only one colossus is there, the marauders clean out the fourth base easily and then move in toward the third
BanBans concedes
The attack on the gold base seemed like the turning point. TOP had expanded ahead of BanBans but had a weaker army. If BanBans had fought that battle with shields on his units he would have taken out the gold base easily. After that, TOP's economy kicked in and it was over.
Game 2 - Shakuras Plateau
Upper positions, BanBans at 10 and TOP at 2
No gas fast expand for TOP, one gas into nexus for BanBans
Two more barracks for TOP
Stim now for TOP, two gateways and a robotics from BanBans
Same builds as last game so far. Factory for TOP
Once again TOP moves to pressure with three marauders and some marines
Robotics bay for BanBans, starport for TOP
TOP moves around the ramp trying to incite a force field, BanBans doesn't bite, TOP withdraws
TOP starts building a command center at his third base, colossus coming for BanBans
Nexus as well for BanBans, not too far behind TOP's
Two stargates for BanBans, vikings coming for TOP
TOP drops four marauders in BanBans' base (just like last time)
This time the robotics bay isn't available so he only snipes a pylon or two before retreating
Ghost academy out for TOP, both players even on bases but BanBans has more workers
BanBans hasn't gotten thermal lance...must be a mistake because BanBans is still making colossus
TOP drops marines at BanBans third base and kills a ton of probes, then even some phoenixes when they try to respond
Thermal lance coming now for BanBans. After taking that damage BanBans moves across the map
The stalkers get too far ahead for the colossus and get ripped apart by the marauders.
BanBans tries to retreat but the marauders catch and destroy the colossus
TOP starts getting a nuke and three more ghost academies
TOP moves for BanBans' third with his large marauder army. Nothing there to defend.
BanBans' small number of units move to engage and get EMPed on their way in for their trouble
BanBans concedes
Another game where BanBans got his nose bloodied by drops, then attacked when he shouldn't have.
Commentary: Identical games in build orders, very similar in outcomes. Compared to the inventive strategies we've been seeing in Code S and even some of the rushes we've seen in Code A, this was bog standard. Both players massed up passively and didn't really engage until 3 bases, then TOP won because he harassed with drops but still got his full forces together to meet BanBans' ill-advised attacks.

Game 1 - Xel'Naga Caverns
Hatch first for Cezanne, two barracks for sC
Two SCVs pursue Cezanne's scouting drone back to his natural, rejoining the scouting SCV
The first marine arrives and an SCV starts a bunker at the top of the natural
Another bunker starts closer to the hatchery
Baneling nest for Cezanne
Zerglings are out but four marines and three SCVs are there
The near bunker finishes and four marines get in, they're in range of the hatchery
One of the now four SCVs sneaks up the ramp to see what's happening
Cezanne makes six banelings and destroys the bunker when there are 13 hit points left on the hatchery
Command center half done for sC, he moves his marines back to the farther bunker, then pops out to finish the hatchery
Zergling speed starts for Cezanne, two barracks for sC
Zerglings surround the bunker, so sC unloads it and salvages it while the zerglings kill the marines
Cezanne remakes his hatchery, sC thickens his wall with another depot and a bunker
Evolution chamber out for Cezanne, sC getting shields and making infantry
Stim for sC, macro hatchery for Cezanne
sC floats his second command center to his natural while the zerglings watch
Third hatch for Cezanne at sC's furthest expansion
sC moves out with a large group of marines and marauders, Cezanne makes banelings
Factory coming for sC as his army reaches Cezanne's watchtower
sC finds the Cezanne's third and destroys it easily. Cezanne counters to the natural with zerglings.
There's more infantry and a bunker at the natural, so Cezanne doesn't attack
Starport and engineering bay for sC, lair for Cezanne
Baneling speed starts for Cezanne while sC sends his forces around the back pathway
A spotter zergling sees them coming. Cezanne sends his zerglings the long way around.
The banelings attack from the front, move around the marauders, and hit the marines who are shooting the zerglings attacking them from behind
Cezanne has made up most of the supply difference and is taking his third again
Infestation pit for Cezanne, sC moves toward the third again with a small force
Cezanne surrounds it with zerglings but there are too many troops. He falls back and the hatchery is destroyed.
Zerglings and banelings attack the natural, forcing sC's marines to flee back up the ramp
The banelings take out some marines and the supply depots that completed the wall in
Cezanne is rebuilding his third at the normal position
sC sends a dropship full of marines toward Cezanne's old third while menacing Cezanne's third with his army
sC moves to the back passage and then uses a dropship to move some marines in and attack the hatchery
Cezanne attacks the army in the passageway and destroys it, but the marines lifted to the hatch kill it
Meanwhile sC drops the back of Cezanne's main and kills a lot of drones before it gets cleaned up
sC has landed a command center at the gold. Cezanne pokes but is repulsed
Cezanne double expands to his natural third and the other base he previously tried twice while also getting hive
Spire coming for Cezanne as well, but he's a long way from brood lords
Armory and second factory for sC
Cezanne uses banelings to kill the bunker at the natural, then uses fungal growth to block the reinforcements and even kill some while his zerglings kill depots in the main base
Greater spire almost finished for sC
Cezanne has taken the gold, but sC sieges up outside it while attacking Cezanne's third with marines
Both the third and the gold base fall, but five brood lords are being made
Belatedly sC starts making vikings, the brood lords are staying over the creep on Cezanne's side of the map for now
For some reason Cezanne just holds the brood lords in reserve while sC pumps vikings
Vikings move to engage the brood lords but get fungaled
sC sieges up a ways away from Cezanne's gold and sends only small groups into range of the infestors
Simultaneously a small group of infantry attacks Cezanne's fourth but it gets cleaned up
Cezanne is switching into brood lords but he's under enormous pressure on all his bases
Corruptors defend the brood lords and prevent sC from controling the gold area
sC masses up all his units and moves into the gold, trying to get under the brood lords
Only three brood lords left. sC advances to the natural choke
Ultralisks are out but Cezanne has a lot of marines and marauders, not enough energy on the infestors
sC snipes the hatchery at the natural and also takes out one of Cezanne's other hatches
Infantry move to Cezanne's last mining base and kill it
sC is mined out, but he's floating a command center to another expansion
Cezanne fungals sC's army and attacks into it with ultralisks
Too many marines and marauders. The ultralisks go down and sC's army moves into Cezanne's undefended main base.
Cezanne's entire main base is destroyed. Zerglings harass sC's only mining base...perhaps Cezanne was hoping for a draw, but with sC's army that's not happening
Cezanne concedes
Cezanne fought hard and did surprisingly well considering he let himself get bunker rushed and then couldn't find a way to defend his expansions.
Game 2 - Lost Temple
Close air positions, sC at 9 and Cezanne at 6
Two barracks for sC at his natural chokepoint, Cezanne goes hatch first
The first marine and an SCV join the scouting SCV and build a barracks
Drones are out but there are three SCVs and they get repelled
The first bunker finishes, the second gets started
Zerglings kill some SCVs while Cezanne makes a spine crawler
The spine crawler finishes and kills the near bunker, but the far bunker is out of range of the spine crawler
More marines arrive and shoot down the zerglings from outside the spine crawler's range
Command center going up behind the pressure for sC
Cezanne loads up on zerglings and attacks before the hatchery dies
The marines kite back, take out the zerglings, then move forward again
Cezanne repositioned the spine crawler while this was happening and plants it in range of the bunker
sC unloads the bunker and kills the spine crawler
Now there's no hope for the hatchery and marines shoot it down
Zergling speed for Cezanne, factory for sC
The bunker at the chokepoint is still in place with three marines in it. Back home sC is walled off entirely with three barracks.
Baneling nest for Cezanne. sC makes marines and patrols SCVs to watch for nydus worms.
Stim and siege mode researching for sC, Cezanne making banelings
The banelings destroy the bunker, siege mode half complete
Starport for sC, Cezanne re-expands and takes out the rocks at the gold
Evolution chamber for Cezanne, who takes a third at the 3 o'clock natural
sC puts two tanks in a dropship and moves out, lair starting for Cezanne
Zerglings see the dropship. sC doesn't care, he just drops the tanks on the ledge over Cezanne's natural
The tanks shoot down the hatchery pretty easily. The medivac picks them back up and heads for Cezanne's hidden expansion.
Spire half done for Cezanne as the tanks start hitting his no longer hidden hatchery
sC puts up a bunch of turrets and drops 16 marines in Cezanne's main
The marines try to snipe the spire but find themselves cornered by banelings and slaughtered
They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting something different. Cezanne builds two hatcheries at the 12 o'clock main and natural.
The two tank dropship waits a little too long to withdraw and mutalisks arrive, but an enormous marine army arrives to save it
The enormous marine army also has six siege tanks with it.
sC siege tank crawls up the ramp and starts destroying buildings in Cezanne's main
Meanwhile a dropship with marines drops the 12 o'clock natural
Cezanne makes a good group of banelings and kills a surprising number of marines. Not that it matters.
Cezanne surrenders
Another game where Cezanne wasn't ready for sC's early pressure and got way behind.
Commentary: Cezanne didn't seem to know what to do about the bunkers at his natural. For someone doing hatch first openings, that was a serious problem. Game 1, not to mention Cezanne's past matches, showed he's capable of some pretty good play in the mid-game, but he never got there without a big disadvantage that forced him to cut defensive corners. Meanwhile, credit to sC for exploiting his advantages, constantly scouting for hidden expansions, and not making any big mistakes.

Vikings move around the map killing overlords, making it difficult for July to keep from being supply blocked.
July sends another group of units on a futile attack on Byun's forces in the center, but it's not enough
While this is happening, Byun is attacking July's three outer expansions with three separate groups of marines.
July concedes
Fantastic game from Byun. I thought he was playing way too passive, but he countered everything July did perfectly.
Game 2 - Jungle Basin
Hatch first for July, two barracks for Byun
Byun starts building two bunkers at the top of July's ramp
Zerglings arrive and drive out the one marine

Byun's small number of defending units are way outnumbered, but they fall back under the siege cover from the main
The zerglings get destroyed by the siege tanks, but mutalisks force a thor to approach
Byun has made a secure path from his main to his center expansion using a long barracks wall
July catches a large group of marines out in the open with mutalisks and zerglings, meanwhile his overlords drop banelings on the siege tanks
Some siege tanks survive and kill the ground units, then marines rallying out of the barracks wall drive off the mutalisks
July hits the expansion again with mutalisks and zerglings, killing a thor and disrupting mining
July takes a fourth base and makes a ton of zerglings and mutalisks
July has a really large number of mutalisks now. 28 I believe.
They move into Byun's main and essentially one shot the turrets there
Thors rip through the muta clump but they die too.
Some marines arrive and force the mutalisks to be more circumspect.
Meanwhile an enormous group of zerglings stream into the natural but they take severe damage from siege tank fire
Byun attacks in both directions with his marines
Mutalisks clean up the attack at July's fourth, banelings clean up at July's third

Byun kills July's third with a group of marines
Mutalisks magic box a thor and some tanks in the middle of the map
Byun heads for July's only mining base with four thors and some siege tanks
The hatchery falls almost instantly. Byun now maneuvers back to his position in the center of the map.
Starving now, July attacks the thors with mutalisks and overlords with banelings. Not a good matchup for July.
July surrenders
Another great game for Byun. July couldn't find an answer to his fairly unique style despite Byun making several big micro mistakes in the early and midgame.
Commentary: Great pair of games from Byun. He benefited a little bit from Jungle Basin's Terran advantage, but mostly this can be attributed to his composition. I've never seen a Terran be so successful against Zerg playing so defensively...even Jinro will start fighting after he's been on two bases for a little while. Byun turtled up to three bases, and even after that he mostly stayed at home. Could this be the future of TvZ given the strength of Terran defenses and their ability to quickly snipe builds (i.e. expansions) with marauder drops?

Game 1 - Jungle Basin
Hatch first for Moon, command center before barracks for Lyn
Factory for Lyn, then two barracks.
Zergling speed for Moon, starport for Lyn
Baneling nest and a ton of zerglings for Moon
Lyn is putting a bunker behind his wall and siege mode is almost finished
Moon makes 24 banelings, banshee coming for Moon
Banelings take out the supply depots despite siege tanks, zerglings stream in and kill the tanks
Moon makes some more banelings in the main, but a banshee is out
Lyn's SCVs evade the banelings while the banshee snipes them
Meanwhile SCVs put the wall up again and prevent zerglings from rallying in
Moon tries to bust the front again, taking out the supply depots. But not enough zerglings make it through to do any damage.
Lair for Moon, another starport and two more barracks for Lyn
The banshee tries to harass but it gets taken out by queens
Second factory and a raven for Lyn, evolution chamber for Moon
Baneling speed and burrow for Moon, who is twenty supply behind and even on bases
Spire now for Moon as Lyn moves into the center with a marine/tank army
Lyn moves in toward the ramp. Moon has about six banelings in his main and another six on the other side.
Moon attacks from both directions and wipes out the marines with banelings. Only one tank survives thanks to a dropship.
Lyn drops his tank in range of Moon's natural, forcing zerglings to go around and deal with it
Mutalisks on the way for Moon as well as a third base at the near outside expansion
Lyn sends his formidable army to Moon's third and forces a cancel. Moon can't even come close to engaging it.
Lyn sieges up outside Moon's natural again while building a command center in his main

Lyn assembles another large army at his main and heads down toward Moon's new expansion
Moon obliterates Lyn's second army with banelings and mutalisks, but Lyn cleans up his natural, including the spire
Lyn starts siege crawling into Moon's main
Moon makes an enormous number of zerglings and wipes out almost all the marines in his main
Lyn attacks Moon's center expansion. Moon counters to Lyn's new base and forces it to lift.
Lyn's forces in Moon's main are still alive, however, thanks to some marines picked up by dropships while the zerglings were attacking.
Moon concedes
Moon pretty much lost when his first baneling bust did only moderate damage. Lyn prolonged the game by losing a couple armies to careless attacks, preventing the victory from being very impressive.
Game 2 - Lost Temple
Close ground positions, Lyn at 12 and Moon at 9
Gas and then pool for Moon, one gas opening for Lyn
Moon's scouting drone kills an SCV
Zergling speed for Moon, factory for Lyn
Second gas for Moon and lair. Still no expansion.
Second command center in Lyn's main. He switches the factory to a reactor, then floats his barracks to spot and snipe the overlord behind his base
Spire for Moon, two hellions out for Lyn
The hellions see the lair, turn around immediately, and Lyn starts an engineering bay and armory
Moon takes his natural. A hellion gets inside Moon's main and spots the spire.
Lyn has two turrets and a thor on the way. Moon making mutalisks.
The mutalisks arrive at Lyn's base, but there's not really any harassment they can do given the thor, turrets, and marines
Baneling nest for Moon, siege mode for Lyn
Two more barracks and stim for Lyn. Moon making 17 banelings.
More banelings now. Starport being build for Lyn
Moon attacks. For some reason only one of Lyn's tanks is sieged up. Banelings kill the two bunkers at the natural and all of the SCVs there.
Marines and the thor in the main clean up everything that makes it up the ramp. All the mutalisks died to turrets during that attack.
Baneling speed and burrow researching for Moon. He also gets a third base at the 6 o'clock main
Lyn moves out with his marines while sending a dropship with marines and a tank to the high ground over Moon's expansion
Banelings kill Lyn's marines in the center of the map.
Despite Moon's low mutalisk count, he manages to clean off the ledge. Several mutalisks are killed by some clever marine/dropship micro by Lyn.
Lyn sends a thor, tank, and marines to Moon's natural. For some reason he charges all the marines in. There are banelings there.
The marines drop back and spread, but the mutalisks kill the tank and zerglings kill the thor.
Moon burrows some banelings in between the two bases.
Lyn's wasteful attacks mean that he's only about 15 supply ahead.
Lyn sends a couple marines...maybe 6 or so...over Moon's 5 banelings. Moon detonates all of them. Sigh.
Lyn drops marines at Moon's third and takes out the hatchery.
Mutalisks harass the siege tanks ad Lyn starts to crawl toward Moon's natural.
Lyn building turrets and bunkers as he slowly approaches Moon
Lyn tries to drop marines the marines from Moon's third in Moon's main. Mutalisks and zerglings destroy them easily.
Moon has a huge number of banelings, but Lyn has prespread his marines and siege tanks and is poking with small groups of marines.
Mutalisks attack the reinforcements while Lyn carefully manages his attack.
Nydus being built by Moon
The marines continue to fence with the banelings, darting in and out of siege cover
Finally Lyn sends some marines back to deal with the mutalisks killing his rallying marines
The siege tanks are almost in range of the natural. Moon puts the nydus in the center of the map.
Lyn destroys the natural's hatchery and starts crawling up Moon's ramp
Lyn loses a lot of marines to banelings, but eventually he snipes the nydus network
The units stuck on the other side try to counter to Lyn's base, but plenty of marines are there to defend.
Some zerglings counter to Lyn's main. Lyn is mined out since he never took a third, but of course it doesn't matter.
Moon surrenders
Well, there's a reason no one goes one hatch mutalisk any more. Against most Terran builds, it's lousy. Once again Moon was at a big disadvantage. Lyn did his best to throw it away by being wasteful with his units, but in the end Moon succumbed.
Commentary: Moon's got to be disappointed with this match. I'm disappointed with it, for that matter. It's not uncommon for teammates to play strange matches, so I guess I'll blame Moon's poor play on mind games. I'm not sure who was playing them: Lyn seemed to play fairly normally whereas Moon was doing some silly stuff. Even for Code A, Lyn is frankly a fairly unimpressive semifinalist given the enormous numbers of units that he needlessly lost trying to close out these games.
