Clearly not intentional. According to Artosis LittleBoy was 20 supply up, and neither he nor Tasteless seemed to notice the dropship full of marines getting shot down.
LittleBoy was dropped, apparently. While he calms down, Tasteless spends a while discussing which ninja turtles he and Artosis are most similar to (taking the unusual angle of allocating two turtles to each).
Tasteless gives himself Leonardo ("the leader") and Michaelangelo ("the party turtle"), by the way. Artosis gets Raphael ("the angry turtle") and Donatello ("Because I'm smart?" "You're good with the bo.").
The game restarts.
Cross positions, LittleBoy at 12 and ButterflyEffect at 6.

A fourth banshee harasses LittleBoy's natural but gets cleaned up with a scan
LittleBoy's two tanks deny mining from most of ButterflyEffect's natural.
ButterflyEffect sieges tanks near the ridge and hits some of the tanks. LittleBoy drops a mule and repairs.
A second wave of tanks for ButterflyEffect clean the tanks off the ridge, but LittleBoy's vikings snipe a medivac.
LittleBoy has some tanks and marines to contain, but it's not a large force. ButterflyEffect attacks with a much larger army.
Despite attacking into a siege position, ButterflyEffect's superior numbers carry the day and he wipes out the containing force.
ButterflyEffect's army clears the rocks at the gold, then heads up toward LittleBoy's expansion
ButterflyEffect's army wanders into range of the siege tanks that line LittleBoy's ridge and takes significant damage from uncontested siege fire
After that mauling, ButterflyEffect retreats and starts a command center at his gold.
ButterflyEffect masses up his army and moves out again. LittleBoy has a small number of units at the watchtower and they get run over.
For some reason ButterflyEffect continues on into the teeth of LittleBoy's defensive position at the natural
ButterflyEffect's army melts under massive siege fire.
LittleBoy drops marines at ButterflyEffect's natural and kills a number of SCVs before getting cleaned up.
LittleBoy is down a base, but he floats a command center to the top left island.
ButterflyEffect sends a dropship full of marines to the island and forces it to lift off again
ButterflyEffect then attacks LittleBoy's natural again. This time his numerical advantage is so great he breaks through
SCVs come out to block ButterflyEffect's survivors and a siege tank comes out of the factory and finishes them off
LittleBoy tries to drop the gold, picks up and withdraws when marines come running, then misclicks and flies the dropship over the marines. It's destroyed immediately.
Meanwhile LittleBoy once again moves out with his units. He's so far behind it's probably doomed regardless, but with him not even sieged he gets crushed by ButterflyEffect's armies.

There have been some bad games in this GSL where one player rushes and just rolls over the opponent. This was definitely the worst "normal" length game. Both players made awful decisions.
Game 2 - Steppes of War
Command center on 17 again for LittleBoy. Interesting. Both players make a bunker, though of course LittleBoy's is at the expansion.

The hellion takes some damage but it manages to run by into LittleBoy's main

ButterflyEffect puts his factory on the reactor and starts making hellions.

There are only marines at the top of the ramp but the hellions are content to sit in a containment position in the natural

LittleBoy brings a banshee to help and is able to drive out the hellions. Banshees kill all of them before they can retreat.

LittleBoy sieges up and starts killing the planetary fortress
ButterflyEffect attacks again while LittleBoy's tanks are firing at the planetary fortress and wins a huge victory
The planetary fortress is on fire but no SCV goes to repair. It has 50 health left, though.
LittleBoy tries to float a command center back to his gold, but absolutely no units escort it and he flies it over ButterflyEffect's army. Sigh.
ButterflyEffect's planetary fortress indeed burns down. Double sigh.
He doesn't mind too much, because his army continues on and routs LittleBoy's few remaining units.
LittleBoy surrenders.
Well, the end of this game was funny. That's about all you can say about it.
Commentary: Usually I rate games low because one player gets completely stomped. This is an unusual case in that both players looked horrible and made a constant stream of mistakes. I guess ButterflyEffect made slightly less mistakes, but remember that LittleBoy was way ahead in the original game 1 thanks to some terrible decisions from ButterflyEffect, so you could almost call this a 2-2 draw.

Some pretty terrible probe micro results in the hellions killing 10 probes, and one of them even escapes from the stalkers
Now a cloaked banshee arrives. There's no robotics but there's a cannon in the mineral line
The banshee simply avoids the cannon and does a lot of damage. Meanwhile Lyn makes a command center
The banshee's cloak runs out so it retreats while a second one arrives at the natural
The second banshee at the natural kills the only pylon there so that the cannon warping in won't be powered
Meanwhile Lyn has his natural up as well as a raven and is getting stim
Lyn starts taking down the rocks. Both his banshees survived to join his army.
Lyn moves across the rocks and defeats AngelGirl's outnumbered army. Meanwhile he lands his factory in the back of the base again, but it's not needed.

Stargate for AngelGirl, starport for Lyn
Inexplicably, AngelGirl moves his stalker away from the ramp and lets an SCV into his base, where it scouts the stargate
Void ray coming, Lyn getting cloak and banshees
Twilight council coming for AngelGirl, then dark shrine
The void ray arrives with two stalkers to harass the front of Lyn's base
Viking coming to help with the void ray while the first banshee moves out
The cloaked banshee arrives and starts killing probes, but meanwhile DTs warp into Lyn's base
Raven being made as he scans and kills one DT, then when the second moves in another scan is ready and it's killed as well
AngelGirl puts a cannon in the back of his minerals and gets a phoenix
Command center and stim coming for Lyn
Lyn's banshee attacks again, doesn't react to the cannon's presence, and gets shot down
Lyn's small clump of infantry moves to the ramp with a raven and viking
Lyn sees the phoenixes and thinks better of his attack, pulling back to the watchtower
Lyn lands his command center at the natural, then moves to AngelGirl's ramp and forces another force field

Getting cloaked banshees was a good reaction to what AngelGirl was doing (and the timing seemed to imply it was a deliberate counter). Another game where AngelGirl wasn't too impressive and Lyn was solid.
Commentary: The quality of play in GSL 1 wasn't up to the standards of the later tournaments, so players like AngelGirl who didn't qualify after the first one were assumed to be several steps down from the later players. That doesn't work in all cases (like Tester/sSKS/Trickster/whatever he's being called this week) but certainly seemed the case today. Lyn hasn't lived up to his Warcraft 3 reputation but he's a solid SC2 player and deserved to advance.

Lyn moves across the rocks and defeats AngelGirl's outnumbered army. Meanwhile he lands his factory in the back of the base again, but it's not needed.

Inexplicably, AngelGirl moves his stalker away from the ramp and lets an SCV into his base, where it scouts the stargate
Void ray coming, Lyn getting cloak and banshees
Twilight council coming for AngelGirl, then dark shrine
The void ray arrives with two stalkers to harass the front of Lyn's base
Viking coming to help with the void ray while the first banshee moves out
The cloaked banshee arrives and starts killing probes, but meanwhile DTs warp into Lyn's base
Raven being made as he scans and kills one DT, then when the second moves in another scan is ready and it's killed as well
AngelGirl puts a cannon in the back of his minerals and gets a phoenix
Command center and stim coming for Lyn
Lyn's banshee attacks again, doesn't react to the cannon's presence, and gets shot down
Lyn's small clump of infantry moves to the ramp with a raven and viking
Lyn sees the phoenixes and thinks better of his attack, pulling back to the watchtower
Lyn lands his command center at the natural, then moves to AngelGirl's ramp and forces another force field
Phoenixes snipe a medivac as Lyn's army maneuvers

AngelGirl tried to take an expansion at 3 o'clock, but a group of infantry goes and forces a cancel

Getting cloaked banshees was a good reaction to what AngelGirl was doing (and the timing seemed to imply it was a deliberate counter). Another game where AngelGirl wasn't too impressive and Lyn was solid.
Commentary: The quality of play in GSL 1 wasn't up to the standards of the later tournaments, so players like AngelGirl who didn't qualify after the first one were assumed to be several steps down from the later players. That doesn't work in all cases (like Tester/sSKS/Trickster/whatever he's being called this week) but certainly seemed the case today. Lyn hasn't lived up to his Warcraft 3 reputation but he's a solid SC2 player and deserved to advance.
